ADRIAN — An elderly Adrian man died Thursday afternoon after his car was struck broadside by another vehicle.

According to the Lenawee County Sheriff's Department, Roald Storen, 83, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at the intersection of Gorman Road and Lyons Highway.

Mr. Storen was southbound on Lyons Highway when his car was hit by a vehicle driven by Eric Whitehouse, 18, of Lyons, Ohio, who was uninjured. Stephanie Giberson, 17, of Weston was riding in the front seat of Mr. Whitehouse's car and Alisha Flores, 16, of Fairfield, Mich., was in the back. Both passengers, who had nonlife-threatening injuries, were taken to Bixby Medical Center, Adrian, for treatment.

Mr. Storen apparently failed to yield to oncoming traffic, causing the 2:50 p.m. accident, deputies said.
