LIMA, Ohio — Lima Memorial Hospital has been awarded $14,580 from a private foundation to help patients with severe chronic pulmonary disease.

The Foundation of Healthy Communities, created and endowed by a group of Ohio hospitals in 1994, has granted a total of $220,000 to the Lima facility and 14 other hospitals. The foundation encourages health-care providers to promote healthy lifestyles.

The money distributed by the foundation is from more than $2 million received from the Ohio Public Health Priorities Trust Fund, which was created out of the national tobacco settlement.
