Ottawa man killed in snowmobile accident

LAKE GEORGE, Mich. — An Ottawa, Ohio, man was killed Friday when his snowmobile missed a turn and struck a tree in Clare County, sheriff's investigators said.

Jeffrey L. Heitmeyer, 23, was riding on a trail when his machine crashed shortly before midnight. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
