Tornado-siren test set for Lucas tomorrow

3/25/2003

Tornado sirens will sound at 9:50 a.m. tomorrow throughout Lucas County as part of a statewide drill for Severe Weather Awareness Week.

The Lucas County Emergency Management Agency is asking schools and businesses to test their sirens for one minute.

Bill Halsey, county EMA director, said sirens normally are tested at noon the first Friday of each month. But he said getting people's attention that the severe weather season is starting is important.

“It's an opportunity outside of the noon hour for schools to test their tornado drill,” he said.
