Dairy development firm selects another location

KENTON, Ohio — A dairy farm development company has picked a new location for its proposed 700-cow operation.

Vreba-Hoff Dairy Development abandoned plans at another site a mile outside the city in August because residents who were worried about pollution and truck traffic had organized meetings to oppose the project. A second site was ruled out because it would have re|quired moving too much dirt to make it viable for construction, Vreba-Hoff spokesman Cecilia Conway said.

The company is awaiting engineering and water test results on the latest site near Kenton and hopes to know within three weeks whether it will work.
