HOYTVILLE, Ohio — Students from McComb Middle School will be recognized by former astronaut and former U.S. Sen. John Glenn in Washington for a Space Day project that won them top honors.

The students received the Best Overall and Most Creative awards for a project where they collaborated to find solutions to problems of working and living in space. The contest was part of Space Day 2003, which will be celebrated May 1, the day the students receive their award.

The McComb students designed a “Military Heavy-Lift” model aircraft. They will be able to share the design with scientists and engineers at the Space Day events.
