Fremont lifts nitrate advisory for its water

FREMONT — After nearly a month, the city of Fremont has lifted a drinking water advisory that resulted from elevated nitrate levels.

Tests done Monday and Tuesday showed nitrate concentrations averaging 6.4 milligrams per liter, well below the allowable level of 10 milligrams per liter, according to Joseph Flahiff, superintendent of Fremont's water treatment plant.
