A Sylvania limestone quarry operation could face a $26,500 fine for reporting and testing violations, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's regional administrator said yesterday.

Barrett Paving Materials, Inc., is subject to the fine because of clean-air violations stemming from a recent increase in the conveyor belt capacity at 3835 Centennial Rd., the federal EPA said.

The company has 30 days to request a hearing.
