Blade executive to lead Toledo Red Cross board

Thomas F. Pounds, vice president-general manager of The Blade, was elected chairman of the board of directors of the Greater Toledo Area Chapter of the American Red Cross at its annual meeting last week.

The board oversees the Red Cross local chapter, which provides disaster response services and offers health, safety, first aid, and CPR training in Lucas, Ottawa, and Wood counties.

Others elected include first vice chairman, Kevin Lent, of the Wholesome Group, LLC; second vice chairman, David Kuhl, of Eastman & Smith; secretary, Cindy Taylor, a community volunteer; and treasurer, Pamela Hershberger, of Ernst & Young.

Elected to serve on the 28-member board were Mr. Lent; Bill McGinnis, a community volunteer; Kevin Moyer of AFSCME Ohio Council 8; and Diana “Dee” Talmage, a community volunteer who is a member of the Owens Community College board of trustees and a former Lucas County Republican Party chairman.
