Toledo is adding an Ohio Bicentennial Celebration to its festivities on Friday.

The bicentennial celebration will be from 10 a.m. to noon at Harvard Circle in South Toledo, adjacent to Walbridge Park. There'll be live music starting at 1 p.m. in Promenade Park, where the Toledo School for the Arts Concert Band will perform at 8:30 p.m., followed by fireworks on the Maumee River downtown at 10 p.m.

On Thursday, the 23rd annual Perrysburg-Maumee joint fireworks display will start at dusk over Fort Meigs.

There'll be a pre-fireworks party in uptown Maumee with food, games, and entertainment. At Fort Meigs State Memorial Park in Perrysburg, Murphy's Place Orchestra will perform at 8:30 p.m.

Norwalk, Ohio, will have a bicentennial parade. Several other communities plan to add a little something extra to their holiday observances.

DEFIANCE

Carnival in Kingsbury Park Friday. Fireworks at dusk.

FINDLAY

Sunday 6 p.m. celebration with entertainment and 10 p.m. fireworks at the fairgrounds off East Sandusky Street.

FREMONT

Friday 10 a.m., parade at Birchard Park. Fireworks at dusk at Rodger Young Park.

HILLSDALE

Friday, 6 p.m., Parade from Hillsdale College down Hillsdale Street, up Broad Street, and east on South Street. Carnival at the fairgrounds with fireworks at dusk.

LIMA

Noon Friday, Star Spangled Spectacular at Faurot Park, carnival, sand volleyball tournament, exhibition baseball games, and entertainment. Fireworks 10:15 p.m.

LUNA PIER

Fireworks at dusk Saturday over the lake as part of the city's annual Freedom Celebration with citywide garage sales and other events.

MANITOU BEACH

Devils and Round lakes fireworks display on the Devils Lake sand bar between Cherry Point and the old marina on Round Lake Highway at 10 p.m. Friday.

MONROE

Fireworks Thursday at dusk at Sterling State Park.

NAPOLEON

Tomorrow and Thursday, 4 p.m.: Hole-in-One Contest at Glenwood Park. Thursday 7 p.m.: Concert in the park. Friday, 2 p.m.: Little League games, 8 p.m. Napoleon Community Band, 10 p.m. fireworks display.

NORWALK

Parade 10:30 a.m. Friday from Main Street School down Main Street, south on Norwood Avenue to the Huron County Fairgrounds. Fireworks at dusk.

OAK HARBOR

Old Fashioned Independence Day Celebration 6 p.m. at the riverbank by Mull Street, includes live music. Fireworks at dusk Saturday.

PORT CLINTON

Ice cream social at the Adams Street Gazebo 6 p.m. Thursday followed by Patriotic Tribute at 7 p.m. Performers include singing groups Ohio the Bicentennial and the Sweet Adelines barbershop quartet. Fireworks at dusk Friday at Waterworks Park. All events are free.

PUT-IN-BAY

Extended fireworks show from the bay 10 p.m. Friday. Firelands Symphony at Perry's Monument 7 p.m. Saturday.

SANDUSKY

Stars and Stripes celebration at Washington Park 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday includes a children's parade, games, and vendors. Fireworks 10 p.m. at Cedar Point. Rain date: Saturday.

SPRINGFIELD/ HOLLAND

Fireworks at dusk Saturday. Children's games and concessions at Community Homecoming Park, onAngola Road, from7:30 p.m. to dusk.

SWANTON

Fireworks Thursday at dusk at the football field.

SYLVANIA

Centennial Terrace opens 7 p.m. Thursday. Admission $3. Fireworks 10 p.m. can be viewed there or at Pacesetter Park for $3 per car.

TECUMSEH

Fireworks at Cal Zorn Park 10 p.m. Saturday.

TIFFIN

All-day events Friday in Hedges-Boyer Park include 11 a.m. sand volleyball tournament, 6 p.m. pet parade, 7 p.m. music, 8 p.m. money hunt, 10 p.m. fireworks.

UPPER SANDUSKY

Fireworks at dusk Sunday at Upper Sandusky High School.

VAN WERT

“Holiday at Home” Friday includes parade on Main Street, carnival and chicken barbecue in Smiley Park, a car show at Fountain Park on South Jefferson Street, and fireworks at 10 p.m. at the Van Wert Regional Airport.

WATERVILLE

Music and food 8 p.m. Friday at Waterville Primary School, fireworks at dusk.

WAUSEON

Happy the Clown 4 p.m. and fireworks at dusk at Harmon Field on Friday. Free swim day 1 to 9 p.m. at the Wauseon Municipal Pool on East Oak Street.

WOODVILLE

Friday, 7 p.m.: Kiddie tractor pull, entertainment, music. Fun run 8 a.m. Saturday, fun run, 7:30 p.m. game show, music. 10 p.m. fireworks. All at Trailmarker Park.
