Nitrate warning lifted for Fremont water users

7/1/2003

FREMONT — An advisory warning city residents of high levels of nitrate in the drinking water was lifted yesterday, according to Fremont's water treatment plant. Customers of the Fremont city water system were notified June 19 about high levels of nitrate and were advised not to give the water to infants under six months old or use it for making infant formula or juice. That restriction has been lifted in light of recent results which show nitrate levels below the maximum contaminant level of 10 milligrams per liter.
