Perrysburg Twp. pact dictates water service

BOWLING GREEN - Some Perrysburg Township home and business owners who were ordered to sign annexation agreements with Perrysburg to keep their water on have appealed the ruling to the 6th District Court of Appeals, Toledo.

Wood County Common Pleas Judge Robert Pollex on June 2 ruled in favor of the city, saying it was not required to sell water to users outside the city limits. The property owners were told to sign annexation agreements within 60 days or face termination of their water.

In addition to the appeal, Willowbend subdivision resident Gregory Bakies asked the court on Monday to issue an injunction prohibiting the city from turning off the water until the appeal is heard.

Perrysburg Law Director Peter Gwyn said yesterday that he did not understand the basis for the appeal. “I do not understand what issues they're raising. It seems they've all been raised before,” he said.
