Girl, 11, struck by car suffers serious injuries

An 11-year-old girl was hurt seriously yesterday when she was struck by a car as she ran across Mettler Street near Lagrange Street, police said.

Saitazia Stephens, whose address was not released, was admitted to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in serious condition.

The girl ran across Mettler about 7 p.m. and was struck by a car driven by Mark Sibberson, 45, of Essex Street, which was westbound on Mettler, police said.
