Erie County youth hurt in bicycle-SUV collision

BERLIN HEIGHTS, Ohio — An Erie County boy was injured critically Saturday when a sport-utility vehicle struck his bicycle on State Rt. 61.

The Ohio Highway Patrol said Joshua Molnar, 12, of Milan, Ohio, and a friend were bicycling southbound on Route 61 at 5:40 p.m. Saturday when they turned in front of the vehicle, which was southbound.

The vehicle, driven by Aaron Kirk, 38, of Greenwich, Ohio, avoided the first bicycle but struck Joshua's bike. The boy was taken to Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, then to Toledo Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
