TIFFIN — Two boys were thrown from a golf cart Sunday after it overturned on Seneca Township Road 131, about six miles south of Tiffin.

One of the boys, Austin Chapman, 12, of Clyde, was taken by his father to Mercy Hospital in Tiffin following the 3:15 p.m. wreck. No information was available about his condition yesterday.

The driver of the golf cart, Joshua Bauders, 17, of Clyde, was the other youth ejected from the cart. He refused treatment at the scene.

Troopers with the Ohio Highway Patrol in Fremont said Joshua was driving the cart southbound on Township Road 131, north of Township Road 26, when he attempted to turn into a private drive, and the cart overturned. In addition to Austin and Joshua, there were four other boys riding in the cart at the time. They were not ejected or injured.

Authorities said the accident remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
