Sylvania firm to pay EPA fine of $19,800

8/10/2003

A Sylvania Township manufacturer has agreed to pay a $19,800 fine to settle hazardous waste violations, the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency said yesterday.

Motor City Mold, which manufactures fiber-glass molds at 8432 West Central Ave., was cited in 2001 for illegal storage and transport of materials, improper management of hazardous wastes, failure to adequately train employees, failure to adequately perform and document inspections, and improper packaging and labeling.

The agency said the problems have since been corrected.
