Truck slams into ditch, killing driver

FREMONT - A 54-year-old Fremont man was killed yesterday when his pickup truck swerved into a ditch just south of here, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

William Otte, who was trapped in truck, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers at the patrol's Fremont post said.

Mr. Otte was heading west on Cole Road, just east of Buchanan Road, about 7:40 a.m. when his truck swerved across the road twice and then skidded sideways off the north side of the road into the ditch.
