Airport Hwy. collision kills pickup driver

A 21-year-old Springfield Township man was killed yesterday when his pickup truck collided with a tractor-trailer on Airport Highway, just west of Albon Road in Springfield Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Nicholas Floriana, of Lake Moon Drive, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers at the patrol's Toledo post said.

He was driving eastbound on Airport just after 6 a.m. when his 1990 Ford Ranger crossed the center line and collided with the tractor-trailer, which was traveling westbound on Airport, troopers said.

Traffic was blocked on the busy road for about three hours while troopers investigated the accident.
