Voters in this week's Today poll gave the bride-to-be her first choice - at last.

Seneca Bowers will wear her hair in a romantic up-do with spiraling tendrils to frame her face, and a tiara and diamond-headed pins to keep it in place when she and Chris Janowicz marry Sept. 3 during a live broadcast of Today.

The elated woman's face said it all during yesterday's broadcast when the audience held up photographs of Ms. Bowers in that hairstyle.

Not only did she love the way her hair looks in that up-do, “it was a style I could never do myself,” the Erie, Mich., woman said in a telephone interview.

Some 460,000 people voted during the week. The winning hairstyle was chosen over three others. Another choice this summer, the bridesmaid gown, set the record for most votes in a Today poll when more than 517,000 people went on the show's Web site to vote.

The hairstyle for the groom is not subject to a vote.

“He gets to pick how he wears his own hair,” Ms. Bowers, who turns 34 on Tuesday, said during the show.

Not that he has much choice. Mr. Janowicz, 35, has a close-cropped hairstyle.

The coming week's vote is on wedding favors. Choices include a tackle box filled with travel supplies, a bundle of iced almond cookies in wedding shapes, binoculars and a guide to New York City, and a canvas bag filled with New York City souvenirs.

“Normally, people give away gifts that are worth a couple of dollars, but this is a fantasy wedding,” Today host Matt Lauer said.
