Design work scheduled for railway overpasses

A state committee has advanced plans for rail overpasses at three northwest Ohio sites.

At a recent meeting in Perrysburg, the rail grade-separation subcommittee of the state Transportation Review Advisory Council approved the three projects for design work.

Plans call for rail overpasses on Oregon Road in Perrysburg Township, Hallet Avenue in Swanton, and Jones Road in Fostoria.

The Ohio Department of Transportation expects to award design contracts for the three projects by April, 2004. The design phase is expected to take at least a year, with construction likely to begin in 2006.
