Seneca gets $112,061 for victim assistance

9/4/2003

TIFFIN — Seneca County has been awarded two state grants totaling $112,061 to underwrite its victim assistance program.

The grants are from the crime victims services section of the Ohio attorney general's office and will fund advocates in five Seneca County courts until September, 2004.

County Prosecutor Ken Egbert, Jr., said the state grants would ensure continued services for crime victims through his office at a savings to the county's general fund. Victim advocates notify crime victims about scheduled court hearings, provide emotional support, and help file applications for restitution.
