ADRIAN - Adrian Charter Township has purchased new digs for its police department.
The township board recently bought a home and property next to the township hall at 3967 Hunt Rd. The board hopes to remodel the building and turn it into a new police station.
The panel approved allocating up to $20,000 for the project at its Monday meeting.
Changes will include electrical updates, the installation of a ramp to meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards, a new security system, new garage doors, and cement and drainage work.
The township officially takes possession of the property Sunday.
