Perrysburg Twp. fire, EMS could share home

A facility that houses Perrysburg Township Fire Department and emergency medical service operations under one roof could be the eventual result of a study that examines how buildings in the township's Lime City Road complex are used and the condition they're in.

During a special meeting yesterday, trustees said they would like to advertise a request for proposals for an engineering study of township facilities. They asked the township administrator and department heads to fashion such a request. Trustees took no formal action.

Department heads said they needed additional space for township equipment and records. A priority mentioned was a combined fire-EMS facility, possibly with a second floor to be used as sleeping quarters.

“It will take awhile to get to the point that we know what we will be doing,” said Barbara Gunn, trustees' chairman. But a new administration building, she said, “is the last thing we're thinking about.”
