Semi spills diesel fuel near Upper Sandusky

11/7/2003

UPPER SANDUSKY, Ohio — A tractor-trailer spilled 50 to 90 gallons of diesel fuel along U.S. 30 just west of U.S. 23 early yesterday.

The driver of the semi owned by BRST Expedited was westbound on U.S. 30 at about 6:30 a.m. He noticed his gas tank was leaking and pulled to the side of the road. Troopers with the Ohio Highway Patrol said the tank might have been damaged by debris.

Traffic on the road was not affected. The fire department cleaned up the spill and the Environmental Protection Agency will assess the damage.
