Lima woman injured in collision near B.G.

BOWLING GREEN — A woman from Lima, Ohio, remained hospitalized yesterday after a two-car crash Tuesday just south of Bowling Green.

Melissa Marshall, 18, was hurt about 7:25 p.m. when she attempted to enter eastbound U.S. 6 from the southbound I-75 exit ramp. She failed to yield and was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by James McCarthy, 42, of Bowling Green, according to a Wood County Sheriff's Office report.

Miss Marshall was listed in serious condition yesterday in Toledo Hospital, where she was taken by air ambulance. Mr. McCarthy was not hurt, while his passenger, Surat Schaller, 58, of Bowling Green, was treated at Wood County Hospital.

Mr. McCarthy was taken to the Wood County jail after he was charged with driving under the influence.
