Rossford clerk to retire

11/13/2003

Rossford s longtime clerk of council announced Monday night that he would retire at the end of the year.

Council members praised Ed Tucholski for his 27 years of service to the city.

“I have enjoyed working with the last two mayors, city administrators, and the many different individuals who have served on council,” Mr. Tucholski said.

He asked to remain as clerk until Dec. 31 to give Mayor-elect Bill Verbosky time to choose a replacement and then help transition his duties to the new clerk.

Mr. Tucholski, a former teacher for the Rossford school district, was first appointed to the clerk position in April 1976. The salary was $1,200 a year.

The mayor-elect said in addition to selecting a new clerk, finding a new city administrator would be a top priority.

City Administrator Vince Langevin has announced that he, too, will retire when Mayor Mark Zuchowski leaves office. The mayor did not seek re-election.

Also this week, the City Council approved an ordinance that eliminates license fees that city business owners must pay to operate bowling alleys, pool tables, and mechanical amusement devices.
