Perrysburg Township selects new fire chief

12/20/2003

Michael Dimick will become Perrysburg Township's new fire chief in 2004, the township trustees decided yesterday.

Mr. Dimick is a 31-year veteran of the department and has been the full-time deputy chief for six years. Trustees have set a minimum salary at $55,000 annually.

The board plans to decide the salary at its first meeting in the new year.

The trustees selected him because of his experience, Trustee Bob Mack said.

Tom Brice, who has been with the department for eight years, also was called for a second interview yesterday. He will be the new deputy chief, a position the trustees had not expected to fill so soon. Both men live in the township, as the trustees required.

Mr. Dimick replaces Louis Wehde, who is retiring after about 25 years as part-time fire chief.
