Sandusky County OKs budget of $16.5 million

1/6/2004

FREMONT — The Sandusky County commissioners have approved a $16.5 million 2004 spending plan, which is $600,000 more than last year's general-fund budget.

The commissioners eliminated $900,000 of requests submitted by various departments, but allowed money for a 3 percent raises, or 40 cents an hour, for nonunion employees. Last year's budget had no raises.

The budget was not predicated on job cuts. Commissioner Dan Liskai called the 2004 financial plan a “status-quo budget.”
