Swanton Twp. to hear moth treatment plans

2/7/2004

Gypsy moth experts will make themselves available for three hours Feb. 19 to help residents learn about suppression efforts for Swanton Township.

The township is the only part of Lucas County that qualifies this year. Treatment will be centered around trees in the Valleywood Golf Course and branch out to residences north to Brindley Road, west to State Rt. 64, south to Monclova Road and east to Scott Road, officials said.

Representatives from the Ohio Department of Agriculture and Ohio State University's local extension office will be at Swanton Township Hall, 13410 Airport Hwy., from 4 to 7 p.m. to display a map of qualified areas and answer questions. Property owners should have been notified by letter in early February, officials said.
