A Toledo man was treated at a local hospital after his pickup truck was hit by a train early Saturday on Sylvania and Seiss avenues.

David McCann of 3934 Burton Ave. was driving eastbound on Sylvania, just west of Detroit Avenue, when he went around railroad crossing gates and was hit by a northbound train on the Norfolk Southern tracks, police said.

Mr. McCann's truck landed against a nearby fence, police said. He was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, where doctors admitted him for observation. He was later released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Mr. McCann was ticketed in the accident, police said.
