Middleton Twp. project gets planning commission s OK

BOWLING GREEN - After a lengthy discussion Tuesday night, the Wood County Planning Commission voted to recommend plans for a 38-acre subdivision on State Rt. 65 between Roachton and Five Point roads in Middleton Township.

Dave Steiner, planning director, said Riverbend LLC of Northwest Ohio is attempting to get approval from the Ohio Department of Transportation to install a left turn lane on Route 65 for its Riverbend Lakes development.

If it is unable to get the approval, the subdivision would have to be limited to 50 to 70 lots and could not be developed farther east under the commission s recommendation.

The commission also gave its approval to a proposal by the Perrysburg school board to rezone 9.8 acres on State Rt. 199 between Eckel Junction and Niederhouse roads from agricultural to residential. The school board intends to sell the land, which is across Route 199 from soccer fields it owns, to West Valley Development.

The developer plans to incorporate the parcel into its proposed 48-acre Eckel Trace subdivision, which would be located east of Route 199 and south of Eckel Junction Road in Perrysburg Township.

A request to rezone 63.8 acres at State Rt. 25 and Newton Road just north of Bowling Green was taken off the agenda after the owner said he plans to file an annexation and rezoning request with the city.
