Board to hear review of B.G. school options

3/28/2004

BOWLING GREEN - The Bowling Green Board of Education is holding a special meeting at 6 p.m. tomorrow to present the results of a state review of its school buildings.

The Ohio School Facilities Commission assessed the district's buildings and has put together preliminary recommendations for remodeling or replacing the schools based on standards required if a district chooses to participate in the OSFC program.

Superintendent Hugh Caumartin has said the district would qualify only for about 18 percent funding from the state, so it is unlikely it would be feasible to use the program that helps school districts renovate or build schools.

Members of the Bowling Green school board are asking residents to sign up for small-group discussions in which they hope to gauge opinions on what the district should do with its current facilities.
