TIFFIN - An ambulance service owned by the parent company of Mercy Hospital of Tiffin has begun service in Seneca County.

LifeStar Ambulance Service, a nonprofit corporation that has operated in northwest Ohio since 1986, started operating Monday out of the former Six's Motors building on North Sandusky Street, said B.J. Pasztor, the company's administrative director of transportation service.

The company is offering nonemergency service in the Tiffin area. Seneca County EMS will continue to provide emergency transportation.
