Defiance to ask voters to raise local income tax

4/9/2004

DEFIANCE - Defiance City Council members have voted to put a 0.3 percent income tax request on the Aug. 3 special election ballot.

The additional five-year tax would be earmarked for general-fund needs and would help reverse some budget cutbacks, officials have said.

Council President Charlie Beard said council and the administration are committed to working together to promote the tax issue.
