3 Hancock County bridges to be closed

5/3/2004

FINDLAY - Hancock County motorists will have three fewer ways to cross the Blanchard River with the closing of several bridges.

In Findlay, the Cory Street bridge will be closed beginning today for replacement. It is expected to be closed for 180 days.

Also today, the bridge at Hancock County Road 86 and 16 will be closed by the Putnam County engineer. It is expected to be replaced by the end of August.

Just east of the Findlay reservoir, the Blanchard River span on Marion Township Road 207 closed recently and may stay that way for a while. County Engineer Steve Wilson said he hopes to secure state funding in late 2005 to replace the bridge.
