BOWLING GREEN - Wood County commissioners yesterday approved a 10-year, 75 percent tax abatement for Jerl Machine, Inc., of Perrysburg.

Jerl Machine, which manufactures precision machinery, is planning a $2 million expansion at its plant on State Rt. 795. It plans to add $1.5 million in machinery and equipment and spend $500,000 on building improvements.

Company officials said the project will create five skilled labor jobs.

According to the enterprise zone agreement previously approved by Perrysburg City Council, Jerl Machine will pay $78,660 to the Perrysburg schools over the 10-year period, and Penta Career Center will receive a one-time payment of $3,196.
