ARCHBOLD, Ohio - Lester McCaslin has been named executive director of the agency that offers mental health and substance abuse services in Defiance, Fulton, Henry, and Williams counties, replacing Herb Helsel, who resigned to become executive director of the council on elder affairs in Jacksonville.

The appointment took place at a meeting yesterday of the Four County ADAMhs Board in Archbold.

Mr. McCaslin, of Fulton County, has been associate director of the Four County ADAMhs Board for 9 1/2 years. He previously was director of behavioral services at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo and was program director of the psychiatric unit at Memorial Hospital, Fremont.

He will be paid $75,000 a year, said Lou Levy, the agency's spokesman.
