Wood County offers free larvicide for mosquitoes

5/15/2004

BOWLING GREEN - Wood County residents will be able again to obtain free mosquito larvicide from the county health department this summer.

County commissioners yesterday allocated $6,000 to Health Commissioner Larry Sorrells for the program, which is intended to control mosquitoes as well as the spread of West Nile Virus.

Residents can pick up free "dunks," devices that spread larvicide in standing water, at the health department on East Gypsy Lane Road, at the village offices in Grand Rapids, North Baltimore, and Pemberville, and at the Lake Township hall.
