OEPA to hold hearing on Sandusky Bay dredging

5/20/2004

MARBLEHEAD, Ohio - The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency will conduct a public hearing next month on plans to dredge a Sandusky Bay access channel and build a limestome dock in Marblehead.

The hearing will be at 7 p.m. June 2 at the Marblehead Fire Department, 517 West Main St. The project, proposed by village residents Robert Thoman and Gregory Linder, calls for dredging a 45-foot by 250-foot access channel and constructing a limestone dock 30 feet wide by 130 feet long along Memorial Shoreway.

Ohio EPA officials will answer questions about the project and accept comments from residents. The agency will decide whether to grant a water-quality certification required for projects that involve the discharge of dredged or fill material.
