Ottawa County to test 54 sirens in Besse zone

5/20/2004

PORT CLINTON - Ottawa County authorities plan to test 54 sirens within the Davis-Besse emergency planning zone at noon tomorrow.

The sirens are normally tested for one minute on the first Friday of each month, but authorities recently made adjustments to the siren control station at the Ottawa County sheriff's dispatch center and want to ensure that the retooled system works properly.

The system includes 49 sirens in Ottawa County and five in Jerusalem Township in eastern Lucas County.
