2 men, 1 with a gun, rob bank in W. Toledo

A West Toledo bank branch was robbed yesterday of an undetermined amount of money, and two men were arrested a short time later, police said.

Malcolm Mack, 24, of Douglasville, Ga., and Terrance Oliver, 22, of 247 Kevin Pl., were charged with one count of aggravated robbery. They were taken to the Lucas County jail.

Two men entered the Sky Bank branch, 1103 West Sylvania Ave., about 12:30 p.m. One had a gun, and the other jumped over a counter and raided the teller drawers, police said.

The suspects fled down Berkeley Drive and got into a vehicle. A witness obtained the license plate number and gave it to police. A Sylvania Township police officer saw the men driving in the township and, with help from Lucas County sheriff's deputies, detained the men in Springfield Township. The men had gotten out of their vehicle and went to a nearby residence, authorities said.

Police searched an apartment and found a plastic bag, money, clothes, and a gun.
