Fostoria considers plan to pave way for Kroger

7/8/2004

FOSTORIA - Fostoria City Council is considering four ordinances that would aid plans for a Kroger supermarket in town.

Council gave first readings Tuesday to the proposed legislation, which involves spending $500,000 in state and city funds on the project and seeking bids for asbestos removal and demolition of the former Emerson Junior High School and Lowell Elementary School on the proposed store site.

The seven-acre parcel is bounded by Perry, West High, and Elm streets.
