Wayne man dies in crash on I-75

7/8/2004

A 36-year-old Wayne, Ohio, man was killed yesterday when his pickup struck a guardrail and rolled down an embankment near the merger of I-75 and I-475 in Perrysburg, police said.

Jeffrey Bennett was driving north on I-75 about 4 a.m. on a wet stretch of the highway when his pickup went out of control, police Sgt. Jack Otte said. It struck a guardrail head-on and went over the railing, rolling over several times before it came to rest at the bottom of an embankment.

Mr. Bennett, who worked part-time delivering The Blade, was pronounced dead at the scene.
