7/10/2004

ARCHBOLD, Ohio - The agency that offers mental health and substance abuse services in Defiance, Fulton, Henry, and Williams counties has approved $830,000 in spending for the 2005 fiscal year.

The largest single expenditure was for $600,000 in local levy funds for medical purchases from the state's central pharmacy. Medications bought with the money must be for mental health-related illnesses and be prescribed by physicians who work for agencies funded by the Four County ADAMhs Board.

The agency's board also agreed Thursday to spend state grants totaling more than $200,000 on programs for drug and alcohol treatment, allocated $22,000 to support the Williams County sheriff's DARE program, and awarded an $8,688 grant to First Call for Help to develop a behavioral health disaster plan for each county the agency serves.
