OREGON: POOCHES PLAY AT DOG DAYS FESTIVAL

8/5/2004

The Dog Days of Summer Festival was held on Sunday at the Sacred Heart Home for the Aged on Navarre Avenue in Oregon. The event is a fund-raiser to help the Little Sisters of the Poor, whose mission in the Catholic Church is to care for the elderly poor. Zak moves in for a drink at the doggie day care as Sister Paul Mary fills the water trough. The day care was set up so dog owners could tour the facilities and the grounds during the festival. The festival featured 50 costumed dogs and floats in a parade, dog and human treats and games.
