If you've got them, don't smoke them in Bowling Green parks

BOWLING GREEN - Spectators as well as coaches and instructors will be asked to refrain from smoking at youth recreation events in the city.

The city parks and recreation board decided this week to ban smoking on the playing field and in areas next to fields, like bleachers and warmup areas, director Robert Callecod said.

The new policy, prompted by concerns from parents, primarily will affect the ball fields at City Park and Carter Park because all indoor facilities are already smoke-free, Mr. Callecod said.
