Monclova Township: Road improvements to get under way

9/15/2004

Officials are preparing to start almost $400,000 in improvements to roads in the Stonebrooke Farms and Brandywine subdivisions.

The project will include replacing curbs and gutters and fixing existing catch basins. In Stonebrooke Farms, Woodstone Drive and Stonebrook Lane will be resurfaced. In the Brandywine subdivision, crews will resurface West Course, Heathwyck, Windy Hill, Sandy Springs, Pleasant Hill, and Hollywyck roads.

The township received help from the Ohio Public Works Commission in paying for the project. The commission gave the township a $102,000 grant and a $102,000 interest-free loan to be paid back over 10 years.

Lucas County also chipped in for the road repairs, doing about $32,500 of engineering services for the township at no charge. The township will put $162,500 toward the road improvements.
