Sylvania: Brint Road resurfacing costs to be shared

9/15/2004

The city will pay its share of a resurfacing project for slightly more than a mile of Brint Road between Ten Mile Creek and Silica Road.

Part of the northern portion of the roadway is in the city limits and some of the southern half is a county road in Sylvania Township.

Jeffrey Ballmer, director of public service, said the existing pavement will be ground away and repairs will be made to the base of the roadway. It will then be resurfaced. All the work should be completed this fall, Mr. Ballmer said.

The cost of the project is estimated at $163,000. The city will contribute nearly $52,000 and will provide the milling work to remove the existing pavement. That work is valued at $15,000.

The Lucas County Engineer's Office will award the contract for repaving, Mr. Ballmer said.
