An especially unusual creature - part man, part arachnid - comes to the Toledo Zoo tomorrow.
And he's bound to elicit some shrieks and finger-pointing.
But have no fear. It's the Amazing Spider-Man who will make four appearances in the zoo's amphitheatre: 10:30 to 10:50 a.m., 11:10 to 11:30 a.m., 2:30 to 2:50 p.m., and 3:10 to 3:30 p.m.
The superhero will be part of an interactive educational program about spiders presented by the zoo's education department. The shows are free with zoo admission.
More such entertainment-based learning is planned on Oct. 16, when Scooby-Doo will join zoo staff in the amphitheatre at the same times as tomorrow's shows. In addition to those free presentations, Scooby-Doo will greet fans at two lunch buffets, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 to 2 p.m. Tickets are $10; reservations are required.
