Wood Co. to mull subdivision plans

10/4/2004

BOWLING GREEN - Final plans for the first phase of a large subdivision at State Rt. 65 and Roachton Road in Middleton Township will be before the Wood County Planning Commission when it meets tomorrow.

Riverbend LLC of Northwest Ohio has submitted the final plat of the first phase of the 450-acre Riverbend Lakes. Plat 1, which covers 72.25 acres, is to contain 124 single-family and villa lots.

The development, proposed in 2001 as a golf community, has been revised several times. Planning Director Dave Steiner said developers have acquired the right-of-way to install turn lanes into the subdivision from Route 65, which was a sticking point when the commission last considered the plans in March.

"It's been controversial from the get-go, but from a planning and plat standpoint, it meets all the requirements," he said.

Also on tomorrow's agenda:

  • Westvalley Development's final plat for the first phase of Eckel Trace subdivision, a 14.8-acre development with 30 single-family lots on Eckel Junction Road, a half-mile east of I-75 in Perrysburg Township.

  • McCue Homes' planned unit development footprint called River Oaks, an 8.7-acre condominium development with 36 units in 18 buildings on the west side of White Road south of the Ohio Turnpike in Perrysburg Township.

  • An application from Gerald and Diane Heinze to rezone 9.2 acres at State Rt. 25 and Jerry City Road in Henry Township from agricultural to commercial. Summit Homes plans to buy the land and build model homes on it, the applicants said.

  • A new zoning resolution for Henry Township that includes updated zoning districts and language concerning ponds, commercial uses, adult entertainment uses, and signs.

The meeting will be at 4 p.m. in the County Office Building.
